Holds a Ph.D. in Education Sciences obtained from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Zagreb, Croatia. Works as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Osijek, Croatia. Courses she teaches include Didactics, Curriculum studies, Modern teaching strategies, Pedagogical communication, Non-violent communication (University of Osijek), Pedagogical leadership, School culture (University of Zadar).

Recent projects: 2014 -2016Principal: a profession and a qualification, not a function; 2009 – 2014 Necessity to modify students’ status in and outside classroom.

Reviewer for The Life and School Journal (Životiškola), The Croatian Journal of Social Policy (Revija za socijalnu politiku), International Journal of Innovation in Teaching and Learning, International Journal of Distance Education and E-Learning.

She graduated from the Pedagogical Faculty in Osijek on pre-school education and pedagogy and gained two vocations, pre-school educator and professor of Pedagogy. She received master's degree in 2004 and a PhD degree in 2006 in the area of social sciences, field of pedagogy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb with the topic Spare time Predictor of Behavioral Disorders in Students. She worked at the Pre-School Education Center in Osijek, Education and Teacher Training Agency as an advisor, as an external associate at the Pedagogical Faculty, and in 2001 she has been employed as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education.

In 2006 she became assistant professor, then she has been appointed as an associate professor in 2012, and in 2017 she became a full professor. She teaches Pedagogy, Family upbringing and cooperation with parents, Leadership of educational institution, Extracurricular activities in school curriculum, Teaching communication and Integrated preschool curriculum I.  From 2013 she teaches at the Postgraduate (doctoral) university study programme of Pedagogy and Contemporary School Culture at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, and since 2016 at the Postgraduate Doctoral Study of Quality in Education at the University of Zadar.

She was the president of the commission for securing and upholding the quality of higher education and gained a certificate of quality assurance in the ISO standards of higher education institutions. She has been the president of the commission for passing examinations of educators and pedagogues in pre-school institutions for the five Slavonian counties since 2008.

She was a participant of the project "Program of Psychosocial Help for Refugee Children in the Republic of Croatia” in 1998 and worked as an advisor to the Peaceful Reintegration of the Croatian Danube region into the Educational System of the Republic of Croatia in Vukovar and Baranja.

She was an associate on the three scientific projects of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, she led an international IPA project RO-ufos-luna-MI, Improving the Position of Roma Children in Education in Baranja Region and was an associate of K2 Erasmus + '' Peace-making the education and employment: answers to new challenges and opportunities'.

She was the head of the dislocated undergraduate pre-school education program in Vukovar from 2003 to 2006, head of the Department of Social Sciences of the academic year 2006/2007, the Vice Dean for Professional Development Affairs from 2009 to 2010 and the Vice Dean for teaching from 2010 to 2018.

She is author and co – author of 2 scientific monographs, 4 chapters in the book, co-editor of 4 conference proceedings from scientific conferences, author of around 80 scientific and professional papers in the field of pedagogy, and was a member or president of 14 scientific conferences.

She is a member of the University Council of the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek and President of the Administrative Board of the City and University Library in Osijek and a member of Matica hrvatska.

About the Sub-department


The Sub-department of Pedagogy operates within the Department of Pedagogy, History and Philosophy with the aim of improving the quality of education at all levels of the educational system. Therefore, the activities of the members of the Department are focused on the lifelong learning of pedagogical professionals - especially (pre)school teachers, educators and other employees in the sector of education and research. For that purpose, they cooperate with many institutions in the Republic of Croatia and abroad.
Within the Department, a training program for non-teaching professionals in primary and secondary education has been designed (Pedagogical-psychological and didactic-methodological training, Module A - link https://www.foozos.hr/ustrojbene-jedinice-fakulteta/odsjeci/pedagosko-psiholoska -and-didactic-methodical-training), alongside with a training program intended for university teachers (Pedagogical-psychological and didactic-methodological training, Module B– link https://www.foozos.hr/ustrojbene-jedinice-fakulteta/odsjeci/pedagosko-psiholoska-i-didakticko -methodical-training).
In 2018 the Center for Career Development of Students of the Faculty of Education (https://www.foozos.hr/ustrojbene-jedinice-fakulteta/centri/centar-za-karijerni-razvoj-studenata) was established.
Members regularly take part in various forms of professional development. Hence, they actively participate in domestic and foreign conferences (China, Japan, United Kingdom, Hungary, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Serbia), study visits (Finland, United Kingdom) and summer schools (United Kingdom, Poland).
